Job Overview

We are seeking a Quality Multi-Skilled Electrical Biased Technician/Mate to join our dynamic onsite team. Safety is our top priority, and we are looking for candidates with a strong understanding of health & safety practices. Additional safety certifications (e.g., IPAF, PASMA, CSR/CSCS) will be highly valued.

This role is hands-on and involves supporting electrical and general technical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of electrical and technical systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Your day will be varied, engaging, and full of opportunities to expand your skillset. Here’s what you can expect:

Supporting Installations: Assist with the installation of electrical, mechanical, and technical systems, working closely with skilled tradespeople.

Hands-On Work with Access Platforms: Use MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) safely to carry out work efficiently.

Running Cables & Tidy Terminations: Help with cable routing, connections, and termination, ensuring everything is organised and properly installed.

Installing Unistrut, Trays, Rails & Trunking: Securely set up structural support systems, contributing to a professional and safe working environment.

Networking & Data Cabling: Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of networking and data systems alongside your electrical work.

Following Drawings & Instructions: Work with technical drawings and schematics, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in every task.

Documenting Work: Maintain progress records, including notes, photos, and updates, with support from the offsite team.

Problem-Solving: Identify technical faults and assist in troubleshooting to keep projects on track.

Self-Audit & Improvement: Review completed work, identifying areas for quality checks and improvements to develop your expertise.

We are in the IT, Software, Networking, Communications, Access Control, CCTV, Alarms, PA, Server Rooms, Data Centres related industries. Plenty of scope to develop experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, technical & mechanical systems.

Work alongside qualified tradespeople to support project completion.

Diagnose and resolve minor faults in electrical or mechanical systems.

Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.

Provide excellent teamwork and communication in a fast-paced environment.

Skill & Experience

Experience in a technical, electrical, or multi-skilled trade role (Industrial or field service background preferred).

Basic electrical knowledge (formal qualifications are a plus but not required).

Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for installation and maintenance work.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.

Familiarity with health & safety practices and regulations.

Valid driving licence (required).

Field service or site-based experience is an advantage.

Qualification

Experience in a multi-skilled or electrical biased role is essential.

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant technical field is preferred but not essential.

Safety certifications such as IPAF, PASMA, CSR/CSCS are highly desirable.

Additional relevant certifications are an advantage.

Competitive hourly rate (€17.75 to €20.00 per hour DOE)

Work Location

Primarily within Derry & Donegal, with both short- and long-term projects.
